Udayan NGO, New Delhi

In order to extend ExCEL’s outreach, and to change the lives of as many children as possible, I partnered with the Delhi-based NGO, Udayan. Established in 1994 as a Public Charitable Trust, Udayan Care operates with a mission to empower vulnerable children, women, and youth in 34 cities across 15 states of India.

The journey began with the establishment of a single family home (Ghar) in Sant Nagar, Delhi in 1996, providing care for orphaned and abandoned children. Over the past 28 years, Udayan Care has expanded its efforts to assist disadvantaged groups by setting up additional family homes, supporting girls' education, and providing vocational training, among other initiatives. To this day, Udayan Care has positively impacted the lives of more than 25,000 young individuals, thanks to the invaluable support of like-minded donors and partners who share the belief in the organization's work and mission.

In collaboration with individuals dedicated to human rights and under the framework of the SDGs, Udayan Care strives to establish nurturing homes for vulnerable children, empower girls to pursue higher education and gain employability, and equip communities with digital and vocational training for self-reliance. Additionally, Udayan Care plays an essential role in shaping policies and practices related to the Standards of Alternative Care in the South Asian region through research, training, conferences, and advocacy.
